About Akainu
Akainu is magma. Rows of flames rise through a gradient of three colors, from golden yellow to red, each one offset from the one before, like embers carried off by the flow.
It is knitted from the tip to the long edge, in garter stitch: each flame grows out of a single stitch, stretches, then closes up in eight rows.

La Fée Fil “Merino Single”: 1 skein of each of the four colors, MC Sardines Frétillantes, CC1 Bouton d’or et les 3 ours, CC2 Aveline, CC3 Planète Mars; or approximately 175 yd ; 160 m of MC, 273 yd ; 250 m of CC1, 344 yd ; 315 m of CC2 and 383 yd ; 350 m of CC3. Gauge: 20 sts and 28 rows = 4 in ; 10 cm in garter stitch, washed and blocked. US 6 ; 4 mm needles.
