About Anna Baby
The rest of the cardigan is in stockinette stitch: the second front, the back and the sleeves leave all the room to the cables. A garter stitch border frames the neckline, the button band and the hem, and the buttonholes are worked as you go.
Anna Baby is knitted from the top down, without seams. The yoke is worked back and forth, the cable panel grows with it, then the body and the sleeves are worked separately.
Sized from newborn to 18 months, it is a little cardigan I like to imagine worn every day, over a bodysuit, with its buttons neatly lined up along the cables.
The Uncommon Thread “Everyday Sweater”: 1 to 3 skeins, or 220 to 310 yd ; 200 to 280 m depending on the size. Gauge: 22 sts and 30 rows = 4 in ; 10 cm in stockinette stitch. US 6 ; 4 mm needles, and US 4 ; 3.5 mm for the bands. Shown in colorway Penumbra, size 3 months.
