Who's Leafa? It is Kazuto's cousin, having been raised together, they consider themselves as brother and sister. She is seen very briefly in episode one, before the latter puts the NerveGear, then evoked in episode four because Silica resembles her. She is really only seen during the second arc, when she teamed up with Kirito without either of them knowing who the other really is. She was kendo with him when they were little but when he found out she wasn't really his sister, Kazuto stopped the kendo and went to video games putting as much distance as possible between her and him. When he returned from SAO, he decided to strengthen brotherly ties and Suguha fell in love with him. To forget this love, it is approaching Kirito in the virtual world, which gives rise to many complications when she discovers that Kirito and Kazuto are just one and the same person. She still decides to help her save Asuna despite everything she feels.

The pattern
About the Leafa design is a hat that is knit from the ribs to the top of the cap. To play with the gradient, the hat is knit with the double thread by taking together the thread of the outside and the inside of the pelote.
