Lichenéa

On the inside, a strand of suri is carried along to line the piece, bringing deep softness and a felted plushness — like a hidden layer of velvet beneath the surface. The contrast between the defined structure of the lace and the tenderness of the suri creates a piece that is rich, warm, and deeply enveloping.

Lichenea is a refuge cowl, a fragment of woodland worn around the neck — living, soothing, and infinitely soft.

La Bien Aimée “Corrie Confetti” and “Kumo”: 1 skein of each, Gris éphémère (A, the outside of the cowl) and Park Güell (B, the lining), or approximately 241 yd ; 220 m of A and 153 yd ; 140 m of B. Gauge: 20 sts and 28 rows = 4 in ; 10 cm in stockinette stitch, washed and blocked. US 7 ; 4.5 mm needles, and needles one size smaller for the edgings.
