Louët, a second version in Cosmos
Last year’s Halloween mini skeins, the Cosmos colourway and a suggestion from Pauline: my second Louët brings together colours I might not have dared to combine on my own.

For this second version of Louët, I was determined to use the mini skeins from last year’s Halloween box.
Pauline suggested pairing them with Cosmos, one of her spring colourways. I admit I was a little sceptical at first. It was not at all the combination I would have imagined, but I chose to trust her advice.
Bringing the stripes closer together to use every colour
My first version of Louët actually had relatively few different contrast colours. This time, I wanted to use all the mini skeins in the box and give each one a place.
So I reduced the spacing between the stripes by two rows. A small change to the rhythm that lets the colours follow one another more often, without changing the spirit of the design.
A more relaxed version
I wear this version with much more ease. Its generous fit gives it a very relaxed look, almost the way Charlotte might have worn it.
And I am so glad I followed Pauline’s advice. My initial doubts have completely disappeared: Cosmos ties all these colours together and makes them work as a whole, far better than I would have imagined.
And you? Do you think to ask our talented yarn dyers for advice?
